this has to be, by far, the best shortbread recipe I have come across. I’m sure it would come as no surprise when I tell you that this bake comes from Mary Berry.
 
And who better to make this for than my own Grandma, whose 83rd birthday it is on Wednesday. Nostalgic visits to her house are made up of buttery lightness, sealed tightly in her 1940s biscuit tin. Who would have thought memories could taste that good?!
