Charlotte Firth is the food photographer, videographer and content creator behind acupofteaandcake. Having worked for over 10 years in digital marketing, both agency side and in-house, Charlotte began her food photography journey on an iPhone in 2020 and gradually transitioned and grew her business while still employed – officially going full time in 2022. She now does everything from product to food and beverage photography, videography and stop motion, as well as working with like-minded creatives on their brand photography. She loves working with brands to bring their creative vision to life through sweet, savoury and styled food stories and is passionate about capturing the emotions and values of any brand through elegant styling to help them stand out! Do I need a DLSR camera, or is a smartphone adequate for this course?

You absolutely don’t need a DSLR or fancy camera to take this course. I personally started my journey using just my iphone, and my course covers fundamentals like styling, lighting and composition that are necessary regardless of what camera you use. We’ll run through the technicalities of optimising both smartphones and DSLRs for high-quality video content – so you have everything at your disposal if you want to level up as well!

Who is this course for? Would it be too basic for me, or too advanced?
